church watch on leather band
I am looking for a watch to wear to church on Sundays. I am looking for something simple that would just be nice with pants and shirt no suit. I was thinking a older datejust or cellini in gold. I also was thinking maybe the tudor blackbay. I would want to keep it around 4k. Prefer Rolex. Any models or suggestions of cellini or any ideas. Thanks

Haha I think there is some irony here. Church, watch, $4000.

I have my priorities straight and give generously to several charities including my church. I just want something for that special day that becomes tradition. My kids can say oh thats the one he wore only on sunday. I remember growing up a friend drove a older mercedes only on sunday. I always thought that was neat.

older gold dj ,,, would be my choice. nice cream face and dauphine hands , not to much hassle on a plastic lens so it would look great for many lifetimes to come.

Hi,
I'd also say a Cellini. There are quite a few different types and models available in the range, and you'd be almost sure to find one that you'd like. |

I rotate my watches on Sundays for church.
Sometime, I wear gold, sometimes I wear SS and jeans.. |

I think a used Cellini would be a good choice.
The Black Bay, while being an acceptable watch for many occasions, doesn't seem as nice for church as a nice dress watch.

"pants and shirt no suit" = Datejust IMHO - you can spend all or part of your budget on a recently serviced TT DJ

Is a vintage Day-Date ref. 1803 too complicated? I see those on straps under $4k. Was tempted by one on offer for $3,800 last month from a well-known and trusted seller. I'd rather have that than a DJ.
Of course if you only wear it on Sunday, better put that Pres on a winder. No quick-set dates for that price! |

Sunday go to meeting watch. Reminds me of when I was a kid there was this old lady that always had to have the biggest boldest hat at Sunsay Mass.
