What is the best discount you got from an AD when you buy yours?

Hi all,

what is the best discount you got from an AD when you buy your Rolex/other luxury watches?

My best discount was 12% in my country. Could I get better?

The best I have been offered was 15 % on an SS Sub Date.

Second best was 12,53 % on the SS GMT IIc I bought recently.

My AD has promised an even better discount (20 %, I hope) on the YG DD that I will buy some day.

BTW: Your country is.......?

Early this year I got 25% off an Omega Speedy Pro at my local AD in Brisbane, Aus but at a recent visit they told me that discounts had been reduced to 15%.

That's great deal on a SS Sub to be in DK (25% tax&fee)!
12.53% is very good for the new GMT IIc!

Purchased a Explorer I last January (which I stupidly sold a few months later ) from my favorite AD for $2800. The list is $4350. A little better than 35% off! I think he had a few and was just cleaning out some of the older serial numbers! It was an early F.

20% off on a GMT Master II, Z series three months ago. (This is the coke version.) This was a good deal considering other ADs were not willing to go below 5%.

If your state has 7% sales tax and you buy out of state, that's a huge savings right there!

10% and I can save an additional 8.25% on tax if I ship it out of state.

You may laugh, but this exact model was stolen from an AD in Boston last year by someone who did just what you were suggesting. He put it on, backed up and ran out the door, someone was waiting for him in the parking lot and he got away. That AD now has armed guards who are in shape and can run

Questions - 1. How do you know he backed up and then ran? 2. How do you know that store now has guards that can run? 3. Do you own track shoes?

ha ha, very funny!!

I remember reading about the story in my town's local rag, they print all the police activity and arrests. I also remember thinking that while it was kind of bold the perp was doing it for a watch that retails for less then $8K?? Hard time for 8K, not worth the risk IMHO.

Now if you hear about someone drilling in through the floor over a holiday weekend and cleaning them out, than I might be a suspect

20% off a Z series Sub/date in February. Surprised me at first. This AD has been good to me. A TT DJ in March at about 25% and a SS Daytona last Saturday at MSRP!

Offered 20% off on TT Sub Blue, but declined. I can't take the scratches on the polished gold - too much heartache!

Offered 12.5% off on new GMT with ceramic bezel, but declined. Again, the scratches.

Offered 10% off on Pepsi GMT and accepted!

How?

How did you go about getting your discount. Last time I looked (last year), the dealers here in Tampa, Florida had minimal Rolex quantity and did not seem willing to sell at anything less than MSRP.

I am planning on purchasing my first Rolex (16610 or 16610LV) after the first of the year and would prefer to go through an AD.

Thank you

Sean

I got a decent discount at Jared in Orlando. [Great selection there] You're right-pickins at the local ADs are pretty slim.

I've received 15% on a Kermit Sub, the new GMT IIC, and every other watch I've received from my AD.

They sold my brother a Milgauss for MSRP.

But... no discount on a SS Daytona. Been told $11k?! I just don't understand that. Waiting for my AD to go down to MSRP for the SS Daytona.

I asked this before, is SS Daytona that hard to get?!

Wolfgang, what state is your AD located? Mine is in your home state.

That's something how your AD will give you 15% off MSRP all your watches including the LV, but would mark up the SS Daytona by $3,000.
