Geert (Steveclocks) - Is about to be the most PM'd TRF Member of all time...

What can I say...
This site is amazing..

When I first joined, I expected some watch talk, and a way to pass idle time, I never would have expected to develop long distance friendships...

Many out there are probably already familiar with Geert/Steveclocks, and have noticed what a contribution he is to this site...

But he touched me personally recently this Holiday season..

I have been off the boards lately - a busy cold and Flu season, plus the arrival of our second child ( a BOY!! - someone to actually inherit the madness that my obsession has amassed)..

But, I have still managed to communicate through a few pms..

just when I thought that I was being burnt out and falling into a world of constant taking...a package arrived

Special delivery all the way from Belgium...

...

Belgium chocolates!!!

You hear people talk about Belgium chocolates....but WOW!

I am not one to often indulge...but WOW...like nothing else I have ever tasted..

I had bought my Wife a ladies mid-size YG presidential for Christmas....Believe me.. she was more excited by this package !!

Geert... you have no Idea how perfect and generous this gift is...At a time when I thought that everyone I encountered just wanted to take from me...You restored my faith!

Plus the chocolates are just out of this world ( going especially well with Amarone! )

The best part of it all, is that I got to tell my little girl that these came from my friend in Belgium - and we looked at it on the Globe and maps, and it became a little geography lesson and isome special father daughter time that had been lacking since the newborn, it became such a special evening that I would have never expected...

...and she went absolutely nutty for the chocolate and now refers to him a 'uncle Geert'...

Knap Geert . . . weer iemand gelukkig gemaakt

Willen we ergens in de loop van dit jaar een Belgisch quizke doen voor de TRF leden en de winnaar sturen we wat chocolade op ?

Great gesture of a Belgian member !

We'll I went to LA and Palm Springs and believe it or not . . . I lost 10 lbs of chocolate under way . . . everyone was so pleased that I brought some . . .

We do have many thoughtful and considerate men and women on this Forum...which does make this place a lot fun and a place to meet and start long-time friendships!!!
It's alway nice to see a member, Geert, doing a good deed and sending out a gift to another Forum member!!!

Take it easy.....Leo

That is awesome!! I lived in Belgium for 4+ years and can attest to the "human quality" (don't know how to put it) over there! And the chocolates ... and the beer ... and the food ...

Way to go Geert!

My dear friend, what can I say....
you re-touched me now with this thread
We normally PM eachother as we both are carefull guys.
I admit, I wasn't expecting much of this Rolexforum, but there are some really, really good guys on here. TRF is a site not only for people who like wristwatches, it's also about real life !

Thank you all for the warm reactions to R.J.'s thread and towards myself.

I will continue to be the long distance "uncle" to R.J.'s offspring

I have had the pleasure of meeting Geert in person at the London winter GTG. He is as nice a guy in person as he is on TRF. And those chocolates are amazing.
Does anyone know what he does for a living? It will take quite a few guesses
I know we will be catching up again at the summer London GTG for sure.

Such a nice gesture Geert, oh and I will be getting a new arrival in April too Hint Hint
