Welcome to the Forum!
The case is probably the best feature, nice and fat. I am not too keen to the orange patina, almost making it look questionable. Also, the hands do not look like the original match to the dial. Price seems high but I know they are a little higher on your side of the pond. |

Too much money IMHO.
As well the hands don't match in colour. No biggie, but finding that colour is a challenge. Light cream or white is much easier to source. Wait and keep looking for a better piece at a cheaper price. |

Thanks for the feedback guys.
The watch is priced in sgd so it works out to be 5720 usd with bracelet. |

Fantastic thick case. Really hard to find like that. Also, while the patina of the hands in the photo looks a shade off from the dial, it might not be as apparent in person. And there's certainly a chance that the hands are original. Tritium on the hands and dial doesn't always age the same. I actually love the patina and think it's a pretty good price for the condition. Good luck!

Looks good to me - nothing to confirm the hands and dial are not original - they often change colour differently. Great case. bracelet is totally shot, but can be restored. If that's what you're after, I'd say it was a good one. Great to have the RSC cert as well - I'd go for it.

For the price
I wouldn't buy it. You will have problem selling the watch in the future, let alone recoup the money invested in it. The watch hasn't sold for a reason. It's not the matching patina that is the problem of the watch. It is the FAT case. The top lugs have been so incorrectly polished that I think even the famous Bexley would have trouble restoring the original bevels/chamfers of this watch because the top lug is so closed to the lug hole. Top portion of each lug has been polished down so much that it gives it a FAT look.
You just have to be real careful and do lots of research before venturing into this vintage business. I am not saying this particular seller is a bad seller, but there are unscrupulous people out there that would do anything for a quick buck. BTW, It is widely known that Rolex used different sources for dials and hands, that is why you rarely see a perfect dial and hands match. Good luck hunting ! |

wow great info! can i check which picture shows the overpolishing? I can't seem to find what you're talking about. On a separate note, would you say THIS an example of a good lug: http://10pastten.com/itemimages/TA572-4.JPG Thanks :) |

I've been on a hunt for a vintage 5513 as well and recently purchased one from a reputable seller from the bay (watch is on the way). I'm not an expert, but I just find it odd that in the seller's pics, that in the best frontal pics, the '660ft' is blocked by the hour hand. BTW in the Singapore context, those 'RSC papers' are usually just a S$90 receipt from Singapore RSC that they 'handled' the watch. They did not necessarily inspect it.
