Gold Cellini

Hi, could anyone advise on the following Cellini please? Opionions on price etc.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENTS-SOLI...item53f2225d76

I'm very interested in this and 32mm watches suit my wrist well.

Thanks
Jon

I think it's a bit high, a day date could be had for slightly more. However this watch is stunning in person, my jeweler wore the same one

The smaller size Patek Calatravas aren't much more than the price of that, and they really do 32mm very well.

Hi, thanks.

It's listed at £3200 on their website, I thought the eBay price was high.
Realistically what would you say it's worth?

Thanks

$6200 sounds high for "just" a Cellini, but, it sure is a beauty.

One just sold that I really wanted (30mm) for $3150 and it was 87 grams of gold.

That's the most politically correct statement I have heard in a while.... -> weight of the watch - 10 grams * 40. Sorry, Cellini's are scrap... no matter how beautiful they are.

So, are you saying ALL CELLINIs are only good for the gold value? I'm asking because I saw one I liked a lot and have been looking for a similar one. If they are only worth their gold value, what's the point?

Really guy?? So I guess an Airking is just worth scrap metal too?? Posts like that just tick me off.

Anyway back to OP.....Nice watch, but pricing's a bit steep.

Sorry that people got upset at my comment, but ....

Even though some Cellinis worth a lot of money - King Midas comes to mind - absolute majority of Cellinis are not collectible - sorry. Maybe they will be one day, but not right now.

As far as airking, last I checked am Airking is a Rolex, not a Cellini. ... having said that, 5500 air king is worth $800 for the cal 1520, $200 for the case/dial/hands, and $300 for a 7205 - thus about $1300 in a nice condition. There are exceptions, like original 5500 explorer, or some Airking logo dials, or an Airking with 71 end links.

I don't see what point your trying to make with me but ok.

And the cellini is a great watch, if it wasn't an iconic rolex they wouldn't still make them.
It's a dress watch though, not many people have rolex money to throw down on a dress watch, and if they did they would probably go with a JLC or somthing. The cellini is a pricey watch and thus the resale value is lower, but it would be quite far fetched in my opinion to call them a "scrap value watch".
