I've seen them, too. Almost pulled the trigger on one last month, but the dealer couldn't authenticate the dial. One well-known dealer on the left coast claims that all Mickey dials are after-market paint jobs and no factory Mickey dials exist. And a well-known dealer in NYC claims that factory Mickey dials do exist. Only interested in acquiring a factory Mickey dial. So, my search continues.

WG Skydweller. Although it technically does not meet the test as the OP stated it had to be the watch you would sell all others for. I wouldn't do THAT, but I might sell a kidney for it.

It was a YG DD, but I got this one last summer.
Right now I'd have to say it would be a Coke bezel Fat Lady. Several around but not the right time.

Patek 5146 ... but there are a lot of watches between my current SS SubC and that one that I will own.
To me I want cool watches with significance to me ... cost is not the deciding factor in that. |

I have many, but my grail Rolex is a white gold Daytona with the slate/red dial.

Short term, many. My one absolute holy grail that I will have in the future is the WG sub. Its my favorite precious metal, one of my favorite watch designs, and my favorite color.

A 16713 with a serti dial. I haven't even seen one listed for sale here since I started frequenting this forum. I've seen a few members post pics of them though.

Can't say I'd sell all my watches for it (I'd still have quite a bit of cash to contribute as well...) since I don't think I can be a one-watch guy.
But if you held a gun to my head and said "choose!" I think this would be it: |

I can't say I have a grail. Rather, I prefer to say I have a list of watches I'd really like to own...
...Which ones? It would take me too long to name them all...

Not really a grail watch guy. Too much out there for just one. I am quite content with my modest collection. That said, for the last year I am have been pondering a Patek 5167A Aquanaut. I looked at one last weekend and I really think I am going to pull the trigger soon. May move out a watch or two that I can live without to make room for the Patek.

I do not know if this is my grail but i just love it.
In 2010 Vacheron Constantin created a unique timepiece The Chagall et l’Opera de Paris - Tribute to the Great Composers whose enamel dial is a reproduction of the Paris Opera Garnier ceiling painted by Chagall in 1964. Vacheron Constantin decided to keep this watch in its private collection but to create 11 unique pieces each representing one of the composers depicted in Chagall's original painting. Here is the 5th piece of the series and the only one featuring four composers and a tribute to L. van Beethoven – Fidelio, G. Bizet – Carmen, C.W. von Gluck - Orpheus and Eurydice, G. Verdi - La Traviata |
