Possible Date for My Newly Acquired Man's Cellini
I just acquired this pretty awesome solid gold man Cellini. It's 14k not the usual 18 that most of the Cellini's are but I have seen a few 14k out there.
Here is the info on it but I can't locate a date for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I was thinking it was about 1960 but it could be older or a little newer. Serial number is 3833/76008. Model 1600. 19 rubies |

Linda, 1600 is the movement caliber, not the model number. Model is 3833. Most of them came on leather straps. Integrated band is relatively rare. Nice find. It's hard to date Cellini's, but I would guess 1970s and Antiquorum also states that it's a 1970s watch - http://catalog.antiquorum.com/catalo...&auctionid=209 (this watch did not sell in 2008). There was a similar listing on ebay and that watch was dated 1974

Vlad, this does look exactly like mine but mine is 14k yellow gold. Thanks for the information.
I'm having some trouble setting it. It doesn't pull out straight like most of my watches. It's sensitive and I don't want to break it. Maybe I'm not doing it right? Any advice? |

You should be able to pull out the stem, just like you would with any other watch. As far as I know this watch does not have a screw down crown, and if you can wind it, you should be about to pull it out. Now, the watch might need a COA (cleaning).
Don't be afraid to pull harder on the stem. it's really hard to break something in there. The only thing that keeps the stem from coming out is the detent. It might be sticky if it had not been used for a very long time. Quote:
