Datejust on leather
So for the past five years one Rolex had been all the watch I needed. Since the sub went in for a service last week I have realised the onewatch path may not be the ideal and I've been looking at used datejusts behind my subs back..
I really like the look of a dj on a leather strap, but also on a jubilee band, so do I take the saving and buy one with a strap? Or pay extra and have the option? Please bear in mind money is an issue for me I'm afaird but I could conceivably stretch to a used dj to join the sub. So is buying a dj without a band a good idea? Opinions welcome. |

With the price of a replacement jubilee band for my DJ going for 4K I will definitely be looking into a nice brown croc band if & when the time comes or I might even choose a aftermarket 18k Italian jubilee if I could save 50% of the price of a new jubilee.

What I have in mind is two leather straps (one black, one brown) The leather should offer a nice change from the oyster, the jubilee not so much.
I think this is the way (I'll go) to go unless anyone thinks otherwise? |

I love the the leather strap idea, especially on a tt dj or yg dj....plus maybe you wouldn't worry about bracelet stretching or scratches.....leather is easily replaceable and plain looks good

Finacially no, because you never pay full price in the package deal, you could sell it for 700 seperately on ebay used if its a nice one. You will probably only pay 400 in the package.
I like croc leather by the way in brown on a two tone dj.

It's definitely a LOT cheaper to buy the watch with bracelet instead of picking it up later.
That being said, having options is great, so, bracelet plus a set of Etur's end links is the way I'd go. |

I've been pondering bracelets etc. myself, and the leather strap that Time Travelers made for me is SO comfortable that I can't imagine a bracelet could compare. Please forgive the crappy picture.

A Datejust positively MUST either:
a. Use Etur End Links (I love this approach best), or b. The other choice is to use a Curved Lug End Band Otherwise the watch will look like a misfit. One way or the other you simply must 'fill the gap' between top of strap and curved bottom of the DJ Case. DJs can look terrific with the proper strap matched to the metal and the dial. Use a padded strap for extra height as those 20 mm straps that are flat as pancakes can at times look ridiculously bad. |

Oh crap, sorry. I posted the wrong picture. That was the DD, not the DJ. Here's the DJ.

How does one order Etur end links? I tried Google but couldn't find where. I saw a few photos and they look gorgeous.

DateJust on Java Lizard strap
I tried the crocodile, alligator, and curved end leather straps with black, brown, light brown, and dark brown. DateJust with the black java lizard and Etur endlinks look the best

I'm thinking about a YG DJ myself, but think the Jubilee is too much YG. A brown or black leather band looks perfect. Let the hunt begin!
