Thoughts on 116518?
Hey All
I have been giving it alot of thought and I am looking to trade up to a 116518 with the dial of my dreams My 116523 and 116610LN would have to go. I have had my Daytona for over 6 yrs, and the Sub for only a few months (no attachment there, but I do enjoy wearing it daily) I also plan on hopefully getting a 16610 in a couple of months so I can have a nice watch for work (I prefer not wearing precious metal to work) At this point, my Daytona does not get worn much except for nice affairs/weekend dinners etc. so to be fair 1-2 days per week. I really like the look of the 116518, but just curious how much I would miss having a bracelet. I know the 116528 is another option, but it is much more expensive and I feel the gold bracelet is a bit too blingy for me at the moment. If anyone can give their input on if this trade up is a good idea or their opinion on the 116518, I would greatly appreciate it. |

Thanks for the input. Again it wont be my only watch, just to wear once/twice per week. I will have a Sub 16610 for the daily grind.
Also who knows, I could have some fun with the straps get a brown, black, blue, maybe even a RubberB! |

Just trying to get some more insight from current owners who can sway me to thinking leather is the way to go. I think its a great way to tone down the "bling" |

I think brown, gold and white is a classic combo so Id go for it. As sports Rolexes are predominantly on bracelet most guys here cant countenance much else but if the bracelet is too much for you then this is a good choice or maybe the TT Panda.

116518 is a BEAUTIFUL watch. To me, it can be easily dressed up or down, just a fantastic timepiece! This is my grail, took me years to find it and I am very happy (and proud) with it. Go for it!

Absolutely, I just hope I do not miss my Slate TT too much... it has been very fair to me over the years
Going GOLD is a good thing though, I know this opportunity will not present itself for years so might as well take advantage before prices go up on both precious metals and the watch itself! PS- Is it easy to swap straps? I was looking into a RubberB or Everest strap for times I travel and would like to swim with the watch since the leather will definitely be ruined by salt water/chlorine. |
