So, somehow, rolex is not even on the map. I call BS on that report. There is a reason why it is the most replicated brand.

I didn't see Rolex, TAG Heuer, nor Omega on that list. I think they all qualify as luxury brands.

Well its based on search engine data.
They were searching because they dont know what the heck are those... Meanwhile, who doesnt know rolex? I guess it also could be interpreted as which brand lack equity instead...

Actually, they are not luxury brands. The above three and Breitling qualify as upscale sport and tool watches. To be a true luxury brand, everything must be made in house, with much of the manufacturing process by hand. Also, luxury brands have some advanced compilations such as perpetual calender, moonphase, or tourbillion. As much as all of us on this board love our Rolexes, Omegas, and Brieitlings; we need to accept that although they may produce some of the best quality watches, they are not haute horology. JMHO

That article deals with haute luxury brand watches. More boutiquey labels. I don't think Rolex really fits that bill which is probably why they're not on the list. I don't necessarily see that as a negative thing.

No offense to the OP intended, but first off the source doc was for searches made in 2011. Also BI (Henry Blodgett's little enterprise) mis-states "The report is based on more than a billion consumer searches for luxury watches", while the source doc states: "is based on millions of intentions expressed independently and anonymously by consumers searching for luxury watch brands".
Just linkbait times two...

Maybe the author of this article doesn't consider Rolex as Haute Hologerie?

The reason Rolex is not mentioned in these results is very simple. DLG (Digital Luxury Group) the market reasearch company who compiled this info states clearly the brands they tracked for this report. Rolex was not one of them so they can't report on what they didn't track.
Now should they have is a whole different question. |

Rolex is not exactly a masterpiece of the watchmaker's art. Ever wonder why Rolex does not offer a chrystal on the back of their watches so you could see the movement or why they do not offer any of the traditional complications? Rolex is however a very durable watch with a great case and bracelet design. It is the precious metal models that make Rolex expensive and a prestige item to own. I love Rolex for its durability and good looks and I prefer the ss and tt models. This is just my opinion and is based on sixty years of wearing a wristwatch.

Personally if it isn't rolex I don't really care for IMHO . I have been in the pawn business for a while and my family for longer if It ain't rolexit doesn't hold the money plain and simple . I can bring all my rolexes to a dealer they won't hesitate to buy all of them on the spot . Remember this is my personal opinion there and many beautiful watches nice gauges Etc but to me rolex will be number one always
