Sea Dweller "E" Series

I am preparing to sell my Sea Dweller. I believe it is an "E" series, how do I find out what year it was manufactured. Secondly is there an easy way to remove the bracelet and reattach it?
Thanks,
Kenny

Serial numbers can be found in the FAQ sticky at the top of the forum page. An E serial is from 1990. You will need a spring bar removal tool, some guys however use a paper clip to remove the pins.

kenny- check this out for the approximate mfg date. E is approx. 1990/91 i believe.

bracelet removal is easy. a removal tool is prefered, but pushing in on one side of the spring bar with a toothpick/or paperclip will allow one end of the bracelet/end piece to be removed. repeat for other end...

Reinstalling the bracelet is a bit trickier. essentially you need to depress the springbar and slip it back into place. it is easy to scratch the case if you are not careful. if you have the time, buy a springbar removal tool from qualitytyme or any other place, as it will make the job a lot easier-especially the reinstall part. Good luck on it- Are you selling the SD fro another Rolex?

Welcome to TRF!

You can sell your SD here on TRF, if you like, when you've written 15 posts and have been a member for 15 days.

A "WTS" (Want To Sell) in the subject line seems to be standard. The section to sell is the "Classifieds" section, btw.

Here is a tutorial on how to remove the bracelet:

So I pull out the tool that I need.

It looks like this.

Then I put it in place and push at the springbar
into the endlink.

Then I pull out the endlink carefully and push at the
springbar at the other side until the endlink pop out.

Then I put it back again at the same way as I took it
off. First one side and then the other and when the
springbar is inside the case at both sides I push
down the endlink. Then I have to listen to a little
click when the springbar pop out in the casehole.

After that I will check very carefully so the springbar
is out correct in place at the case so I´m sure I didn´t
lost my watch.

I hope it helps and good luck.

Note that the tutorial is showing the removal of a SEL type bracelet. The procedure of removing a NON SEL bracelet is basically the same, but you use a pin tool to push in the spring bar from the caseside holes. The tape trick is still recommend, also around the lugholes.

Here is the SEL version with lug holes straight against the case.

Here I will show you how you pull off the bracelet
and check your serial number.

Here I use the orginal tool from the Sea Dweller
tool set but you can even use a toothpick so you
dont scratch the case side. Then you push in the
springy pin and lift the end link a little up.

And it will looks like this.

Here itīs fully out.

Then you do the same thing at the other side.

When itīs off you can read the serial number between
the 6 oīclock position between the lugs.

Here is another tool I use when I will get the bracelet
back again. You can even see I have use some masking
tape on the lugs so I donīt scratch the case with the
tool or the pin. Then you push it in so it will go into
the end link.

Then you do the same thing at the other side and when
itīs done you jusr press the endlink down with your
thumb until you hear a click.

Pull off the tape and look carefully so the pins are
viewable in the case holes and they are fully out in
the case.

Great instructional Jocke, now Bo knows what to do

The link at the bottom of the page can take one to a site which will give the serial number = year of manufacture cross reference.
