Open Thank you to TRF and Beaumont Miller and a few Pics of My new 1680!
We all enjoy and appreciate TRF for our own reasons.
I want to take time to acknowledge and thank TRF for being an important part of my life. Kinda sounds funny - that a forum site can provide such impact to my life - but it has My passion for collecting Rolex would be different and likely reduced without this forum: our debates, appreciation, education and friends. Forums are made up of people, with like minded passions, who create relationships and bonds. I thank TRF for all of this. I also want to thank my friend John (Beaumont Miller). I want to thank John for his passion, knowledge and patience. John is a rare person who invests his time to help others. We enjoyed the hunt and vetting process together for this 1680 - although he had the nerve to go on a week long family ski vacation during the hunt and unmanaged, I almost bought 1 project watch and another with issues. After this process, I now look at watches with a sharper eye - I think I will enjoy our passion through a bit of a different lens. The pics below are a 5.2 mil 1680 that arrived today from Andrew Shear. It's an untouched case with a MINT dial. These camera phone pics do it no justice and I will take better pics this weekend in the morning light - but I wanted to post this now to thank TRF for being a fun and important part of my life Russ |

Very nice again Russ! You got a real winner there so enjoy it for years to come! John is a class act and true friend as well. We have been bouncing watches off each other for years - not literally though.

Russ with fat lugs, original chamfers, and sharp lug holes, that is a stunning treasure to be enjoyed for a long time. Assisting you in your search was my pleasure. I always learn a little something in the process as well. I'm glad that your patience paid off and that it now sits on your wrist. Well done friend.
