GMT 1675 fat font insert

Just pick up two of these insert, the other one is more fade. I have a question about the backside.Both are red colored and looks like there is some small corrosion on the inner red backside. What is a good way to clean this corrosion, were talking about about the size of 1mm range.

Take a better photo of the back and post it so we can see. Most corrosion I've seen is not so much corrosion as gunk. Give it a good cleaning with mild soap and water.

I have no reason to think this insert is fake, I bought it in Japan from a known good grey seller here. Pic of the corrosion.

Just about any metal exposed to air / water is going to corrode / oxidize in some fashion. Probably had nicks in the paint that allowed the oxidation.

Thoroughly clean and dry the corrosion spots. Periodically clean.
