Greetings everyone - need info please!
Hello to all and Happy Holidays! I am a new member and need some expert help identifying these 2 Rolex watches I recently inherited. I know I could probably use various search engines and do a little net research but decided to take a short cut and see what the enthusiasts here can kindly tell me about them.
I believe the chrome one an older model (c1930's) and I remember my father telling me the gold one was a Cellini model. Both are working and keep great time. I appreciate the help. Thanks! ....Adrian |

Both very nice. Yes the gold one is Cellini and the other is from 40's-early 50's. Nice inheritance.

The chrome Oyster Royal model seems similar to a few Bubbleback? models on the web except for the "shockproof" marking. The ones on the web have the "chronometer" marking instead. I cannot find anything on the gold one. Still in the dark on these two.....lead me to the light LOL

Thanks Bo!
I am trying to obtain some background info on the 2 for insurance purposes. The vintage chrome model is my daily watch (I am not much of a gold person). The gold dress Cellini does not look like any Cellini model I have seen on the web. It has an interesting way the wrist bands attach to the case. Very sleek. Anyway, thanks for the reply and Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones in Denmark. Kind Regards, ..Adrian |

Thanks Tony!
I guess what I am curious about is the "shockproof" marking on the white faced one. I haven't been able to find another one exactly like it. All the similar ones I have come across say "shock resistant" instead. Did Rolex ever make one with the "shockproof" marking on it? Furthermore, the crown does not screw in. Is it supposed to? This watch stuff is fun ;o) Regards, ....Adrian |
