Two part question
Newbie to this very informative forum. I have read a lot and have a couple of questions. 1. What is a gray dealer and where do they come up with new watches that are only supposed to be sold by AD's? 2a. How do you know if your watch is loosing a few seconds a day? 2b. How do you check to see? Thanks Edd

Welcome r.
Grey Dealers are dealers who import/purchase their watches from AD's who sell surplus stock wholesale.. There is nothing wrong or illegal with this.. In the USA, that means that these Grey Dealers are by-passing the Rolex NYC Distributor...therefore, NY refuses to accept their 'third party" warranties. Many Greys offer their own in-house warranties. End of story....the watches are identical to any watches any where else.. As far as checking accuracy..go to an accurate time source such as www.time.gov and set your watch. Recheck a few days later with the same time source and divide by the days between checks... Enjoy your watch.....and the Forum..

Welcome to TRF!
I found a rare pic of a grey dealer for you: I use accurist123.com, too, if I am at the PC. Otherwise I use a radio-controlled Junghans alarm clock to check the precision of my Rolex.
