I want to love it, but that low contrast bezel just doesn't sit right with me.

I think that they have a hit on their hands..

It's not something that I would buy, but I'm old-school. Today buyers are looking to stand out and have color or just "something different"..

This one will do it.

I currently have a "coke" GMT. I just called my local AD and I'm first on their list for a blue/black. I like it.

As you can see from my avatar, it will match well what I wear half of every month.

<--------------- uniform color

I'm not a fan of the Hulk. Green just doesn't sing to me. This piece is growing on me. I need to see it on my wrist.

+1

I really like the looks of the new GMT. I'll never buy it...and surely don't want it. But I think it's a great watch that will sell like crazy.

I think it's really great. Love how Rolex can make colours look cool like that. I think this watch would work well in just about any collection.

I'm still partial to the TT GMT II, but this Sports Blue/Black is really growing on me!

I agree with Tools. New Rolex buyers will buy it. Blue and black are safe colors. Those of us that are more traditionalists are going to shy away from this piece.

I can't help but compare this "update" to the Explorer II in 2011. When the 216570 came out it did all the right things to blend modern with vintage. The result was you got a timepiece that was very distinctly Rolex but was also still 100% identifiable as an Explorer II. The GMTIIC BLNR definitely has the Rolex skeleton but it lost some of the GMT heritage in the color choices. As I said in another thread: the green worked because it is Rolex's corporate color and we were celebrating an anniversary. There was a connection there. This is just a step in an different direction.

I will wait until I see it in person but I don't think we are seeing a Coke/Pepsi any time soon. This only resolves my decision to get the GMTIIC LN next.

What about the TT? I think the GMT II in YG/Steel is very nice too!

Yes I also think this watch will sell well. Certainly they will sell more of these than the exisiting models I believe. Who wouldn't want to buy and wear something nobody else has?

Oh I totally agree! What I was hoping was Rolex would release the Coke/Pepsi and then update the gold and TT models by just getting rid of the green (making the GMT hand gold) and change the text to white. It would have taken the line back to the original configuration. I do think that Rolex should keep the green dialed 18k model though. That piece is awesome. If I ever go 18k that is the gold piece I want.
