I just got a GMT-II, 2006 model. Should the red GMT hand stay fixed or should it move around the dial? I'm away from the owner's manual. Thanks.

The 24 hour hand is adjusted when you have the crown pulled out to the third position.

The 24 hour hand makes one revolution per day as opposed to the 12 hour hand making two revolutions per day.

You tell the hour in one time zone with the 12 hour hand by its position relative to the dial. You tell the hour in a second time zone with the 24 hour hand by its position relative to the bezel.

Of course it moves around the dial... it's a watch... wouldn't be much good if it didn't...

It is not a "GMT" hand.... that is the name of the watch not the hand.. It is a 24 hr hand and always tells the time in 24 hr format on the bezel..

As mentioned... the 24 hr hand moves around the dial at exactly half the speed of the 12 hr hand..

Yes, it will rotate 360° in 24 hours. When you set the time it is normally set to home time or GMT time.

It moves around once per day and shows time in another time zone.

Why, did you think it's there just for decoration or a spare hand?

The hour hand should move twice around the dial in 24 hours, the GMT hand should move around once in 24 hours. If your GMT hand is not moving something is amiss.

Same question I have. BTW, the GMT also have the 3rd time zone function by rotating the bezel. The owners manual explains that further.

I bought the watch as I like the styling. I wasn't aware that the GMT hand as I referred to it moved around. I thought maybe it stayed on the bezel marker where it was initially set.
I won't use this feature any more than I use my Sub for diving. I'm not a pilot or diver.
I've never had a watch like this before but I knew you all would know the answer.
