16710 bezel smoothness ???
Got my 2008 Pepsi GMT last week and I have a question about the bezel movement. The last GMT I had was back in 1998, since then it's been a number of different submariners were the bezel is unidirectional.
Should the bezel move smoothly both ways ? My bezel seems to rotate smoother anti clockwise than what it does clockwise, is this normal ? |

No, it should go both ways with the same ease. It seems that the little wire spring inside catches / is bend more than it shoud. If you open it you can check it.

Might be gunked up or the small spring is bent.

I believe it to be a normal characteristic of the bi directional bezel to be slightly smoother in one direction. It will feel slightly different turning one way vs the other.

the smaller bit of wire that is under the bezel means that the bezel is easier to rotate anticlockwise, but jiggles a bit clockwise.
I have a 2003 GMT. I think they now have a longer wire and it lays in the opposite direction under the bezel, but it sounds normal to me. or lets say my watch acts in the same way. |
