New Ceramic GMT Just Sitting in ADs Window - Washington, DC

Just to let you folks who live in the MidAtlantic know - this afternoon I saw a new SS GMT (ceramic bezel, polished center links) just sitting at an AD's window - the store is Tiny Jewel Box on Connecticut Avenue - if you want one and have been frustrated by a wait-list, this may be your chance!

I was at the local AD in Fremont, Ca on 12/26 buying myself a Pepsi GMT II and Explorer II with white dial to add to my collection, and they had 2 other Pepsi GMT IIs, a Coke GMT II, a black bezel GMT II, and the new Ceramic SS GMT II and a few Daytonas. They have many of the high demand models in stock, and unlike other ADs, they don't mark up the price. I actually went it to get the Explorer II and when I saw the Pepsi GMT II, I had to have it. :) Their pricing was very reasonable. They are a new Rolex dealer (since mid 2007 I think), but I have done business with them since 1987, and they have always had great after sales support.

I was at Sherman and Sons in Bridgewater, NJ earlier today and they also have a GMT IIC and all flavors (coke, pepsi, and black) of the GMT II new in stock and they don't ever ask for more than sticker. They'll even discount if you know how to negotiate. Ask for Jim and tell him Steve from Cali sent you. :)

Rnaidu, what's the name of your AD? I live in SF and have yet to find a single AD in the Bay Area that discounts.

AD in Fremont, Ca is Bhindi Jewelers. I was at Ben Bridge Jewelers in Valley Fair Mall Santa Clara, and they also discount, but you have to be willing to ask for it. :)

So, did anyone get the GMT-II c's mentioned in this post? Or are we starting to see a little slack in the demand for this watch...?

No sweat - I was just hoping someone here would nab that beauty! (this somewhat "high-brow" AD tends to put stuff in their window, except of course the SS Daytona).

What do you mean by that - you anticipate demand going up or down?

Down. Just my gut feeling but I just don't see a sustainable demand for a $6,000 S/S watch produced in the numbers it will be produced in (meaning more than the Daytonas)

Just walked by this AD's window again this afternoon and unbelievably - the GMT-IIC is still in the window...

Someone put that watch out of its misery!!

Does that mean that demand for that watch is softening? I'm starting to think so!!

Just returning to normal supply and demand. Had to buy a TT to get one three months ago. Glad I did, but also glad to see these becoming available more frequently.

May have to walk up town and see it though.

My AD has had one sitting in his case for over a month. All thru the Christmas shopping season.

So 5100 for a Sub or 5995 for the GMT? I chose the GMT with no issue.

Its not a big diff when your already spending 5000 on a watch.

Agreed. Especially since you're getting the new movement!

GMT II-C's can be found at a discount. Not hard to find anymore.

I'm surprised the Daytonas are not marked up. Bhindi's in SoCal sell Daytonas at sig markup. ~15,000!

Saw one the other night at our local mall in the case. Not the first time, perhaps supply is catching up with demand.

The South East is pretty dry, when it comes to GMTIIc's. I have seen even ONE in the case, in Georgia or Florida.
