Daytona MOP - Black vs. White - and Champagne?

Firstly, as a soon to be Rolex owner, I am thrilled to be part of this group. I have read a great amount of useful information and look forward to your responses to my questions.

I am in the market for a TT Daytona with MOP dial (Romans, no diamonds). I have my heart set on a white MOP dial, but they seem harder to find. There are plenty of black (Tahitian) MOP dials around so I may go with that instead.

Is there anything I should take into account (other than personal preference) when choosing between the white and black MOP dials? Also, a gray market dealer showed me a champagne MOP dial. I have yet to find one from an AD so I was wondering if this guy had swapped in an after market dial.

Wait till you find the dial you want. I have a black dial TT Daytona. I really like it. It contrasts the white dial DJ. The MOP looks awesome!

Welcome to TRF!

Both white and black MOP look great, so I would try them both on and buy the one that appeals most to you when you see it on your wrist.

Personally, I'd go for the white MOP version. Would make for an easier time telling, IMHO.

Be sure to inspect the MOP dials thoroughly since there can be natural flaws in them. Some consider the flaws to be adding to the uniqueness of the dial while others would consider it as being a QC issue.
