Stranded abroad - Watches & great friends
So, the annual summer holiday for Mrs. Fagin & me began just over 3 weeks ago. Flew out of Stansted on a cold & rainy day to Crete.
Wasn't long before we were enjoying great weather & temp's of nigh on 35 though Enjoyed some terrific food & plenty of Raki of course Even managed to find some horny looking wristwear But, unfortunately I managed to fall ill 3 days before we were originally due to return home & despite medication the issue became worse & I was unable to fly home.....despite being insured & spending close on €14000 in the past few years with the travel firm we were left abandoned by both them & the insurers on the day we were to fly home. Thankfully, in 6 years of visiting the same village we'd made so many friends & they helped find us an apartment & were amazing when it came to faxing / printing paperwork for both the insurance & my business needs back home. Insurance finally kicked in the day before we flew home by which time I'd already made arrangements myself....a further 7 days in paradise I wasn't able to enjoy sadly Finally got home a couple of days ago....Huge thanks to the staff at Ag Nik hospital, the place is in desperate need of funds but they were truly amazing & thanks to our friends in Crete, only manage to see them for a few weeks a year but are true friends indeed

Wow, looks like a great trip minus the sickness. Happy you made it home safe and sound. I just filed an travel insurance claim last week for the cancellation of our Vegas trip due to Holly's heart attack and open heart surgery. We'll see how I make out.

If insurance denies your claim, apply over and over again. It will take three or four times.I didn't know and lost about a thousand for not insisting.

Sorry to hear about the bad ending to what began as a beautiful vacation. But hope you're fully recovered now.

Crete is a wonderful place, and so is of course also the Greeks.

Quite the change in weather. It would be hard for me to go home after seeing that beautiful water.
