I just bought a new Explorer from an AD and the said they will mail me the warranty card and it will take 4 or 5 weeks. Since when did Rolex start doing this?

I bet the AD has a 30 day money back guarantee.. mine did the same thing its because they put your name on the card and if you return it cost them 200 bucks to have the card remade.

Probably waiting till you're past their return period.

Ummm, got mine filled out on the spot along with my receipt. I see no reason as to why they would do this. The date on mine was off one day but I didn't notice it until several weeks later when I was filing all my paperwork away.

Agree with Chuck - if Texas state law mandates a 30-day consumer return right, or if the AD has a 30-day return policy, then keeping the card for 30 days avoids the conversion to pre-owned if you happen to return it.
If you are willing to waive any return rights then the AD should provide it now. But you really have no need for it anyway - if it needs a warranty issue fixed you'd be heading to the AD anyway, right?

Couple of watches I bought from Mayors, they also mailed my warranty card took about 4 weeks. Don't know why but that was their policy. When I BNIB from TRF trusted sellers I get warranty card on the spot, as well as better deals!!

All my warranty cards have come home with me in the boxes the watches came in.
Of course, I have no idea what the return policy is at my AD, as I never had any intention of returning them. However, I've read many accounts on these boards regarding such policies, so waiting to send them to the consumer seems not to be uncommon. As long as you have a receipt, I would think that that would be sufficient. The warranty cards are kind of like the card I got from Nikon guaranteeing the authenticity of the Nikon lenses in my glasses--nice to have, but not really necessary.

[QUOTE=Marianoz;4305514]Not sure if this is true or not, so don't hold me to it, but someone told me that NOT all Mayors (Florida) stores are ADs.
The Mayors that I have been to are all listed on the Rolex site as ADs. |

I don't see how the AD can sell the watch again as 'new' after it's been worn 30 days.

I purchased my Sub-C from Mayors back on the 14th of June and I still haven't received my warranty card. The issue of Mayors is that they have a 10 day money back guarantee (if you don't like it, or if you have buyer's remorse then you can take it back no questions). After the 10 day period, they usually request the warranty card to be applied and mailed to the owner which can take up to an additional 30 days.
A Sales Professional that worked with my warranty card and payment issue told me (from the horse's mouth, back 3 days ago) that out of the 250~260ish employees at Mayors, only one of them is responsible for the Rolex warranty cards (basically taking the requests from their chain stores and mailing them to the customers). Mayors doesn't allow for their chains to have the warranty cards (to avoid serial number snafus I'd imagine and they seemed to agree with my deduction). After hearing this, I learned that they have indeed sent the request for the warranty card be shipped to me; however, it seems like it hasn't been fulfilled/sent yet. So they resent the request and put a note to expedite the mailing to get the card to me as soon as the request is filled. The request was resent Thursday and they quoted me for Monday, let the waiting game begin. |
