New person question

Well I'm about to receive my 2013 no date sub later this week. What are my best options for insurance. Home or specific watch insurance? What do you guys and gals do?

Thanks

I go with Jewler's Mutual based on the good reports of many here. They cover loss - theft as well as damage. I pay under $100.00 a year for my Sub. You do have to have an appraisial done for your watch though. My AD did one for me when I purchased my watch.
Almost forgot, welcome to TRF!

We are going to like you! The very first post you come out of the gate with is a brand new Sub! Excellent choice and congrats!

+1 on Jewelry Mutual. You can also put in a phone call to you home insurance company and see the details of their plan to have something to compare it to.

Make sure you get a replacement (higher) insurance appraisal.

Mine is added as a specific item on my home contents insurance. Covered for loss, theft, accidental damage and new for old too!

Cost me about £25 extra per year which I thought was a bargain :-)

Takes all the worry out of Rolex ownership!

I've put off getting a sub for too many years. Can't wait for it to arrive. It will be my everyday watch. Watches like that shouldn't be hidden in a drawers for special occasions.

You really do feel like a kid at Christmas when it first arrives. I know you'll love it.

Congrats!

if you buy a watch from someone(not an AD), with no appraisal, how do you get an appraisal for insurance reasons?

Welcome

I would take out M&S premier or premium home contents. Very easy terms with no valuation, just receipts.

Hi

I am UK also - I have a number of Rolexs that work out around £40 per year each, on top of my normal home insurance premiums. I have been with my existing company for some time (for cars also) and they are pretty good so I did not shop around. Looks like you might get better deal though as mentioned elsewhere on this thread i.e £20 per year - that sounds very competitive. You may find you get bitten by the Rolex bug and end up with more - then you are into a small safe! Welcome to the Rolex world anyway - you will really enjoy it!

You pay a jeweler for one.
Under $5000 in value most policies don't require one.

MetLife for me. Under 10k, no appraisel necessary on my homeowners.

Very inexpensive. I've asked for bulletproof coverage.

Now.....lets talk about your username......

Of yeah, congrats on a great sub.
