Hello to all from Ohio. 1675 question
I own Bell&Ross, Breitling, Sinn, Omega, and Tissot. Looking at my first Rolex, a 1675 GMT two tone from 1977. Bracelet has some stretch. Case, bezel, dial in fine condion, $3300.
My question is..."is the GMT not a desirable piece"? My research tells me this Rolex seems to be the least expensive of all their vintage sport watches. Anybody know the reason? |

Welcome to TRF have a nice stay here
 Well for me the GMT is a desirable piece. The desirability of a watch depends but from what i've seen most of the people lean towards the sub and vintage subs.

John, does or did the vintage GMT make you smile? I picked up my vintage root beer off ebay for $1300.00 some 3 years ago. Still keeps damn good time desireable... yup in my eyes it is ;o)

 There sure would be collectors for at TT 1675, as well, but the SS versions tend to be most sought-after. Not sure what I am to think about that 3,3 K price tag. The bracelet having stretching issues does detract from its value. Could you post a pic?

posting pics would help -- i think the gmt's are the sleepers in the rolex line-up -- any chance i get to pick a vintage one up i do and throw them in a drawer 'till they get the respect they deserve. the price seems a little high, but if you love it you should grab it - my only flag is the stretch on the bracelet, not too keen on that

Thanks to all respondants. Still have not figured out why vintage tt GMt's go begging pricewise. Passed on the 1675. Now Im looking at the so called "California dials". Any comments on those?

I love the GMT, to me its the best looking watch....
I also have a price range that I have to stick to. Its great that we all have a love for Rolex and all come from all areas of the earth and income ranges.

Statistically GMT owners have a better love life and vintage GMT owners have a higher IQ. This is based on a non-scientific survey that has an error rate of -6 to +4.
