The real story behind my GMT II C

I was a huge fan of rolex before i started posting here. This forum though enriched my knowledge and made me want to save more and spend more on watches . Anyway that's not the reason why i started this thread. The reason i started this thread is because i want to share with you guys the real story behind my GMT II C. I know that for a 19 year old guy 5500 euros is a huge amount of money and it was a huge amount of money for me 8 months ago. I always wanted to have a rolex and this forum made my lust for a rolex even greater. I knew that i had to change some things in my life in order to find the money and be able to buy my dream watch. Of course i didn't even dare to ask my parents to lend me the money cause i have a thing called pride and i wanted to make it on my own. One day i was watching videos on youtube and i saw this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lzp_qguwtag which shocked me a bit and showed me that i could get my watch if i would only quit smoking. In the beginning it seemed like a dream but as the months were going i was closer and closer at making my dream come true. So after watching the video i quit smoking and started saving more and more money. Quitting smoking made me quit other habits like drinking alcohol and coffee and this helped me save even bigger amounts of money. In the beginning it was really hard for me cause i was trying to quit from my bad habits but in the end i proved to be a winner. Just 12 days ago i managed to get my dream watch and be a happy rolex owner and a much more healthy person. I am so happy that i managed to quit smoking and other bad habits and made my dream come true. Being a healthy man now i realised that dreams can come true if we really want it and we have to stick it out But in the end we will win. This was a big challenge for me and made me realise that nothing is impossible.

Anyway this was my story behind the purchase of my first watch.

Thanks for reading it Hope that i didn't sound boring

That's awesome. What a great idea, and, of course, the lasting benefits of good health and a nice watch.

You'll have that Daytona in no time!

Boring??? NO WAY! I'm very glad to hear of someone experiencing a success story that will impact their entire life in so positive a manner. I'm especially happy to hear you quit smoking, as a lifetime of that robbed me of several more years with my father and grandfather. Outstanding! You picked a heck of a reward for yourself, too, IMO !

Thank you for sharing that with all of us!

What a great story, V. We're all proud of you for making that commitment and sticking to it. Now stay quit of the ciggies and soon you'll have a collection of Rollies. Now that's incentive.

Velitsko, that's a fantastic story! I know you will enjoy and savor your marvelous watch all the more because of what you did to attain it. Buddy, you learned a lesson at 19 that many never learn in an entire lifetime. Way to go.

Congrats and continue to wear your GMT in the best of health!

That's a great story Velitsko. More power to ya for setting a goal, finding a path to achieve it, and working hard along that path to make it happen.

As for the quitting smoking, bravo. A significant bonus to add to the Rollie on your wrist.

man, that is an awsome story. Good for you. I too got my Rolex in Dec. My wife knew that I had been wanting a GMT II forever. Just so happens she called the AD and went and bought it for me while I was at work abroad. I got home and there it was, a beautiful ss GMT IIc.

But that is one hell of a story you have. Just awsome bro

Kyle

Wow cigarettes must be expensive over there.
Truth is that besides the earning the Rolex you taught yourself a valuable lesson. Any goal, even a Rolex for a 19 year old, can be realized with self sacrifice and tenacity. Don't let anything stand in your way.
Good on you. I think we're all proud.

Smoking, drinking and coffee, now that is some dedication and you get a Rolex to top it off. That's an accomplishment to be very proud of. Great story.

And here I got my GMT from selling my body.

Good for you Frostie! Been over 8 years since I quit. Great feeling when you meet a goal especially when the reward is a Rolex.

Great story Velitsko!

While you purchased your Rolex new, it already has a history...the tremendous sacrifice, journey and story that let it into your life.

Well done!

Velitsko, that is a really great post. I know how difficult it is to give up the nicotine addiction. When I quit, I used the patch. But now I'm thinking there is money in your technique! I can see doing an infomercial on the Velitsko Smoking Cessation Method! Just 3 easy payments of USD49.99 for the DVD and an official Rolex catalogue! Maybe even negotiate a kickback from Rolex! But seriously, you made the right choice and I salute you!

ps: I like the new avatar!
