If lets say ss daytona come out with a date function the waiting list will be 10 to 15 years.

Want a chrono with a date? Buy a VC Overseas. It gives nothing away to the Daytona. Of course, it cost twice as much, so it shouldn't.

If the Daytona comes out with a date, I think demand for the nondate would increase.

After decades of success as perhaps the most iconic watch on the planet, why would Rolex put a date on the Daytona?

Actually, within the next 6-12 months I think there are plans for a size increase and date on the Daytona.

Conversation with a Rolex USA sales guy. I can't really remember the conversation, though, but I've heard that quite a few times now.

If that's true, then I guess I'll have to get the watch on the gray market.

Rolex would probably have to announce that at Basel right? I would be really surprised if they completely changed it to go bigger.
