Why is this missing?

My wife is trying to pick out a new dial for her '80 DJ SS, here are the 2 of her favorite dial choices from his pick. Why isn't the "Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified" on the silver dial? I am told they are factory dials. Must have been a 26mm not certified????? I dunno.

I had to go back to my catalogs for the answer. My 84 Catalog shows all ladies models with Date called Date with no COSC, except full gold models(Datejust). Then my 86 Catalog has most of them(SS, TT, Gold) as Datejust with the COSC, except the basic SS models which are still called Date with no COSC. So the dials are correct as the no COSC is a trituim dial and the other is a newer dial for a basic date w/COSC.

As far as your question, I'm not sure.

But I must say that I LOVE that Roman numeral dial!

Thanks for all the info, So really the white with Romans would not be "100%" Correct on the watch, where the Silver would, not a huge deal to us. NOW WHAT DO WE DO???

Thanks for the opinions, everyone.

My Roman numerals can't be seen as well as the stick markers. I love the roman numerals, but it's no good when I have a difficult time telling the time.

Thanks everybody, I think she has decided on the silver dial. A lot of it because it would be correct for a 1980 serial 6917.

Edit : Also, which one would you think would make the watch worth more if she ever does decide to upgrade????

I personally think Roman numerals make a watch look very old fashioned.

Quite true and the same for the 6263/5 Daytonas S.steel not COSC tested. But the all gold ones were COSC tested, and exactly the same movement.
