It's indeed a stunner. I'd learn to put up with the weight. ;)

It's a jaw dropping piece I must say. Good luck a feel very special if you end up buying it.

I will buy one when I can get a mint pre-owned one for 30,000.00
It will happen

Not sure if a platinum version w/ a china ie. ceramic bezel in brown along with a baby blue dial color with the exact same movement as a SS (non ceramic) version will ever have value. To each their own. I would invest in a PP at this price. IMHO....I feel that you'all are simply adding hype which will soon and permanently diminish.

Given the fact that the majority of these watches will likely be purchased by people NOT on TRF, I don't see how our discussion of this model is "adding hype".

One more point, since Rolex charges more for this model than the SkyDweller - one might expect the winding crown technology/assembly protocol on this 'Daytona' (as found on the SkyDweller) ensured that the crown aligned correctly as well....but evidently that is not the case for $75K.

For that kind of $s, I'd rather have a vintage SS Paul Newman Daytona.

Well if one is buying because he/she thinks it's an investment then it's for the wrong reason.

There goes the 'Rolex is a good investment' theory regarding this model.....line up to loose 50%+.....

When I talked to AD in my area, he told me this was the answer he got when he called all hardcore Daytona fans on his list to let them know they have this piece now available.

Being $13k more than platinum DD-II and I haven't seen any platinam DD-II anywhere near $30k.....not sure if this will ever happen.

I don't buy them thinking it's an investment, like you said, historically precious metal Rolex's doesn't go up in value. I buy them because I like it, even knowing it will depreciate.

If must invest in watches, stick to vintage PP or some vintage Rolex for that matter, even most modern PPs are not good investments.

It's a good looking watch, but heavy and very expensive.

Would you bite if it were a color variant on a normal SS Daytona and priced the same or a small premium over it? In other words, you have gotten rid of the two major problems associated with the watch, cost and weight. Now it is tempting, but I am still not sure I would buy, I think it might get old very quickly.
