Icon12 All this talk of Bluessy's made me miss mine, DARN IT!

Crap..I miss my Bluessy.

The other day I was lamenting to my wife about seeing all these pictures of the blue TT subs and missing mine. She really likes my Serti TT Submariner as I do but said" I don't know why you ever got rid of it ( my blue TT sub) since it was your favorite watch and you never wear the Sub any more since it's only your dress watch".

She's right. I only wear the Serti once or twice a month on a Saturday night out.

Fate can be kind at times. I stopped by a friend of mine who happens to be a watch broker. Telling him the same thing he says, "I have a customer who just bought an aftermarket Serti dial for his couple year old TT Sub. Let me see if he will sell you his blue dial" Ha, he said sure!

Off to the watchmaker my Sub went. I also decided to put back on the blue bezel and keep it all original looking.

Just picked her back up this morning and it was like greeting an old friend. He gave her the full spa polish and it looks like a new watch.

I am so and my watch!

I guarantee I will be wearing this Bluessy a lot more than 1-2 times a month. Plus, if I ever feel the need to go dressy again, I can always pop the Serti dial back in.

Good call you had it changed back to the original configuration, David!

It looks MUCH better that way!

Hi JD. Not sure if you are refering to mine but there was nothing aftermarket on it. The Serti dial was factory as was the YM bezel. The watch came with the dial and I bought the bezel to dress it up. If you mean the guy I bought the blue dial from, well to each their own. I would have never sold my original dial in this case. If he ever wants to loose the bling look, he will have a pretty hard time getting a factory blue dial I would think. A factory Serti dial is in the $2500+ range so most buy an aftermarket for $850-1000 my watch buddy told me. Still, not cheap. The YM 18k gold bezel's are about $900 new.

I thought about selling both but my wife, bless her soul, said "Keep em in case you change your mind". So for now, I will but to be honest, since I bought the TT Daytona which will be more or less my dress watch, I can't see myself putting the Serti dial back in.

Nice work David. I remember our phone conversation about your thoughts of selling the Serti and buying a Bluesy. Now you have both! Hey, since we share the same AD now, PM me with info about your other "watch guy." I'd love to have a good connection like him for parts and used watches!
