Amazing Bald Eagle Photo
I can't claim credit for this photo. A friend's son took it at a nature park just outside of town this week. We've been watching the eagles hunt coots on the lake for the past month. Yesterday, I saw ten Bald Eagles fly through my yard about 15 feet off the ground in single file. The population is really increasing dramatically.

Very nice! They are on the rebound in MN around the Mississippi River, also. I saw one in my backyard near Minneapolis a couple of months ago--didn't get to the camera soon enough. And I live only 3.5 miles from downtown Minneapolis. First time I have seen one so close to the metro. Squirrels, rats, etc.--beware!

Now if we could just bring the Wild Turkey back!
Well we can still drink it, but I'd love to see that spirit's namesake flying wild throughout the land.

We've had a few on our golf course in Lafayette Hill, PA too. Great to see in person.

Several times on motorcycle trips, I've come very close to hitting Wild Turkeys either walking in the road or flying low across the road. Hitting a 15 pound bird at 65 mph is going to leave a mark.

Epic photograph! Your son has a great eye. I hope you encourage him to continue taking more great photos and sharing with us members. Right on little Joey! Sorry if that is not his name!

The photo was taken by the son of a friend and fellow photo club member here in northern Minnesota. His father is an accomplished nature photographer, and Matt appears to have inherited Lee's talent.

I have decent Nikon DSLR equipment, but I can never produce a photo with that clarity and sharpness. Almost everyone in our photo club shoots Canon. It's almost enough to make one switch. Here are some photos I took last month of a Bald Eagle grabbing a coot and flying away. I posted these in another eagle thread last month.
