Icon20 Caseback on GMT 16760 Fat Lady?

I have been told that the case of the GMT 16760 Fat Lady (1983-88) is the same as the Submariner of that time

Does anyone know if this is correct and if so are the casebacks interchangeable?

No, I believe that they are not the same mid case or caseback.

The 16800 caseback is thicker for the increased depth. The 16760 case was thicker to fit the thicker 3085 dual-time movement..

I have not tried it, but the Sub caseback, due to it's thicker material, may bind against the movement. I do believe that both of those references used the later gasket trough in-case and flat flange backs..

Perhaps somebody with more experience with the Fat Lady could confirm..
