Not any more. My AD has a white and a black SS Daytona at the moment. If I didn't just bye my fiancé an engagement ring last month I would have bought the black one. (They did have a list for these watches, called everyone and no one was interested)

3 year waiting list....?

I don't think so.

The person who would wait 3 years for a Daytona, must be six pence short of a shilling...

Strange, all ADs here (I've been to more than 1) are telling me this. Either they are lying or something they are not telling me?

Maybe it's different in Hong Kong. Also, it's a pretty small little island. If one AD doesn't have one and they tell you it's readily available but they are just temporarily out of stock, you're probably going to go somewhere else to get it. But if you think there's a long wait you might not look elsewhere and just wait for their phone call - or you'll buy something else.

I contacted Dennis Gold at Gold Watch Co for a white dial one, and had it in 24 hrs.

Be safe...only purchase from an authorized dealer.

So the worry is that the unauthorized dealer might have a fake Daytona that would fool an AD inspecting it in person?

And you expect us to pick through 2 photos to find the clues?

Welcome to the Forum - but we are not magicians

Frankly, I find it hard to believe that you can't get it in HK. HK has one of the largest concentration of ADs in the world, I think it's like 74 of them cramped into a small city. And they give some of the best prices, due to the volume that HK gets from Rolex.

In anycase, I concur with the members here. If a deal makes you worry, walk away.

Very true. The 3 times I have bought a Rolex have been quite glorious.

In HK, you can ask the seller go to RSC together for verification before the transaction.

Daytonas are not rare. I bought into the AD BS and bought one purely because of the "chase". I flipped it 6 months later. But, only buy it if you love it, not because it's "rare".
