+1

an a series dweller was my first Rolex and I had it for 9 years until I traded it up for a Deepsea. I sold the Deepsea last year and its the first time I have been w/out a Dweller on my wrist in 15 years. I am 1st on the list at my AD and he said the rep said they should have them in May. No pricing yet but I read on another forum it should be around 10.5K.

I will be really surprised if its 12. I know Rolex raises their prices but not at that clip. That would be a monster increase.

Someone on another forum pointed out that the Swiss price might include VAT. Back that out and the price is more inline with where a modest increase would be on the current lineup.

Looking forward to this piece!

Where? I've got my name in it at Ross Simmon (Now Sidney Thomas in my neck of the woods) and at Lux Bond & Green. I was surprised I was the first call for both store?

I'm not getting on the list. I was thinking about it prior to seeing it, but it doesn't really do it for me.

I'd stick with the older ones.

Nice to have the Sea-Dweller back in the lineup though!

hmmm, It does it in many ways for me...but I want to see it in person first. I did however secure the 116719BLRO...so glad I didn't buy the smurf or the white gold daytona yet. SO GLAD.

I thought I might sell the sub c if the new ones were good but I think the SD looks a lot like the sub C non date .. Don't see the point

This is Rolex marketing genius!

The old 16600 was pretty popular but was pretty evenly priced with the Sub so perhaps people were taking them for granted.

So Rolex discontinue the 16600 and bring out the 116660 which pleased some (those blessed with chunky wrists) but made the rest of us (chaps with mincy wrists) extremely frustrated at the discontinuation of the 16600.

They then leave it a few years whilst we make more and more noise about how we need a more sensibly sized SD back in the lineup, and they deliver. But they have introduced a sizeable price gap between the new SD and the Sub, something they wouldn't have been able to do if they had never discontinued it in the first place.

Next step will be to increase the price of the Sub which everyone will accept because it will still appear to be good value to most next to the SD.

Pure. Marketing. Genius.

I love them!

Around $10,500, so $2,000 more than the Sub 116610 and $1,500 less than the DSSD 116660, but then again, I'm fairly sure there will be a price increase before this one hits the stores.

What is the appeal of lug holes? Is it that it's just easier to maintain/clean/switch bracelets?
