Rolex President Day Date

Can any tech on here tell me how long it should take for the day and date to change at midnight.

Watch is an 18k 18038 President.

The 18038 uses caliber 3055, I have never tried to time the calendar change, but both Day and Date displays should change faster than you can snap your fingers. If this is not how yours is changing it could be time for service,

It will not change at exactly midnight. It should change a few minutes on either side of 12 though. If it's more than a few minutes then the hands need to be removed and re-affixed if it causes concern..

It might be time for a service. I have one that moves just before 11:59 58 seconds and two others that move at 12:00 03 sec 12:00 02 sec.

I would hate to admit it, but I actually stayed up to see the day and date change! It makes an almost imperceptible sliding/snap noise and moves very quickly! It occurred about 20 seconds past mid-night.

My 1803 has the non-quickset Cal. 1556 movement, and the day/date also change the exact same way: Simultaneously, and faster than you can snap your fingers.

maybe its me but if you adjust the time during the day to fooool the watch to think its midnight, one can see it during the day when all of our old eyes are sharp.lol niagara falls

Hi, I'm wondering if anybody can help me as I'm new to this forum and don't know how to Make a post.
Basically I have an 1803 presidential daydate which I got quite cheap, and I wanted it as a project watch. The lume on the hands of my watch have worn away and a watch maker recommend I got new hands rather than re luming.
I've found a set of hands on eBay brand new which were taken from a 1993 daydate, and I was wondering if any of you guys knew if they'd fit my 1803 ?
