A contrast in sizes 40 42 44MM

These are the three pieces I currently wear. I have a 7.5 inch wrist so I can handle a larger watch. The Daytona never felt small to me at 40MM until I started wearing the PAM at 44MM the ExpII really has a perfect feel not big not small. I wonder if the DSSD would feel similar to the PAM it looks like a pretty large watch both in diameter and thickness.

Only watch I ever flipped was a Pam. Worst watch I ever had , uncomfortable , Vibrated , hands corroded after two years, too big. Apart from that I guess it was OK.

I had the new Explorer and thought it felt too big - but the Panerai looks even bigger!

Great pic. I've got an Exp II 216570 in black too. What kind of a band do you have on it? It looks good.

Cool collection! To answer your question, in my experience, a DSSD wears smaller than a 44 PAM due to the lugs tapering. It feels smaller and wears more comfortable. It is a bit thicker but that never bothered me. It needs to be sized properly.

That's a cheapie rubber from ebay I actually have a leather pilot on order from Peter Gunny but I also want a better quality rubber strap for swimming and the beach.

I concur
I had a Pam 049 purchased new @ an AD, after 1 yr it stopped working got it fixed under warranty. It didn't have a great power reserve. Their SS seemed to scratch easier.
Lucky for me Panerai holds it's value, sold it for more than I paid.
Bought a pre owned 16610 of same vintage, I'm much happier.

Ed these pics are what kept me flipping Daytonas

It wasn't until I stopped doing the pic and AD comparo and concentrated on how things actually looked and felt ON my wrist

I now enjoy everything from my 40 mm Daytona to my sub and GMT to my DSSD mad YMII

when properly adjusted they all look and feel great to me and would imagine to almost any wrist size

My two cents...

Great collection

Mine.... 40-44

I think with your wrist size the DSSD would fit perfectly. I have owned it before and liked it but in the end flipped. The DSSD will wear smaller than your 44mm Pam IMHO as I have owned numerous Pam's as well

Tom that is one gorgeous trio and your absolutely correct its all about the fit it can be the most beautiful piece to your eye but if it feels like crap on your wrist you eventually will end up dumping it

nice threesome! pretty much everything one needs, unless one wants precious metals.

i would think that the DSSD would wear larger than your 111 due to the DSSD being much thicker and due to the bracelet (a strap will hug the wrist and visually be smaller).

It looks great - very striking. I've been thinking about putting mine on a rubber strap. I have a Mühle Glashutte Marinus II on an in-house rubber strap. Very high quality, but I don't think Mühle sells the straps separately. If you find a good one, let me know.
