Before Jumping All Over Your Fellow TRF Member.......

Remember this, please:

Quality is a characteristic of thought and statement that is
recognized by a nonthinking process. Because definitions are a
product of rigid, formal thinking, quality cannot be defined."

..."When I say, 'Quality cannot be defined,' I'm really saying
formally, 'I'm stupic about Quality."

...But then below the definition on the blackboard, he wrote, "But
even though Quality cannot be defined, you know what Quality is..."

From: Zen and The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance: An Inquiry Into Values, 1974, (Zimm), Robert M. Pirsig.

Likely no one will bother with this thread, and that is fine with me.
It's not the point.
Those who are always correct, please take note. Those that are correct sometimes, well, good, you've got it.

quote from JohnBaker "No one is an expert about everything."

Except if you just finished this McMansion I just did for this owner. 14,585 sq.ft. Which included 14,585 ft. of tile on the floor and another 8,000 plus on the walls. 48 different types of tiles, natural stones, or granites. He had a CM on the job full time and he would always say. I have installed 1000's of ft. of this, 1000's of that and knows about everything. He was a joke. Complete jerk!!! So glad I am finishing this project up and ready to move on to bigger and better projects!

Dan
It is refreshing to step back and stop taking this WIS stuff so seriously and realize we are all just here because we love these things we wear and collect.

Thanks for the well timed reminder to be kinder and gentler with one another.

There I feel better now

Excellent post Dan.

Those kind of actions are the main reason I post primarily on a smaller watch forum. Because of the smaller community, there seems to be a sense of common decency, mutual respect, and a respect for differences in taste between the members there and no keyboard cowboys who have to be right all the time.

Ha! Spot-on.
I just got slapped around on another forum for not knowing that Fume Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc are the same grape. I probably knew that 20 years ago but have forgotten more about wine than I currently know. I really appreciated being treated like an idiot.

But, Dan, what about those of us who are wrong all of the time????

Seriously, thanks for posting that. It should be a sticky! And reposted as a new thread every few days.

Those of us who fit that category have nothing to worry about.

If it hasn't been said before, well said, Dan.

I remember reading Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance on summer vacation (when we had such things) in high school. Loved that book. A very apt reference to bring to TRF.
