What nick name drives you nuts/bugs you

For me there are many. People calling the Sub the no date for example.
Calling any of the new blue dial Subs Bluesy is another.

What's yours?

None of them really bother me. I thought that "Batman" was somewhat lame. Others did too, I guess, given that it never really caught on.

I second this. Considering we are all pretty much Rolex fanatics, it shouldn't be too hard to get excited and recognize the model numbers... I hated Batman when I was growing up and now I would hate to think I wear "his" watch. Ha ha ha. Not really a big deal though.

The term Smurf blows. Despise Batman as well.

I wouldn't say any of them actually drive me nuts, but in my mind watch nicknames are either a Seiko thing or a vintage Omega thing. It seems un-Rolex for some reason and it feels like a recent (last 5-7 years) development in the Rolex world.

Rollie.

But then there is Rollei, which is one of the finest twin reflex cameras in the world.

Both spellings are used and misused on the forum.

The nicknames people are trying to attach to the beautiful and elegant bleu/noir don't fit. I'm a fan of using model numbers as well. In the end I really couldn't care less if people use nicknames for them.

Rolley is the one I hate. Smurf is second.

The rest I can live with, but of course, I have no choice, except to avoid the bad names in my own speech.

The Smurf thing bothers me and calling an Explorer and Explorer I. I do like the old GMT coke and Pepsi though!
