A Sub Ceramic is not for everyone, just like a Picasso or a Porsche 911 are not for everyone. That is why there are a wide variety of models, and brands, to enable the buyer to own the watch that speaks to him.

Your first stop should be the dealer. See what they can offer and if its not satifactory than you'll have no trouble selling that beauty.

My first Rolex was an 114270 Explorer and I was in love with it. Then I bought a 116200 DJ and for a long time I couldn't take it off and wondered if perhaps the Explorer was a bad first choice, even though I didn't regret buying it.
Then after the honeymoon was over, I put the Explorer back on for awhile and it was love all over again. Then I bought the 14060M Sub and I thought, wow, this is the Rolex I always wanted. Why didn't I start here? Then after an extended honeymoon and I mean like 6 months, I put the Explorer and the DJ back in the rotation and again, I found a new love for both watches. Now, I have a GMTIIBLNR on the way. I'm not sure if my reaction will be like yours is now or if it will be deja vu all over again. There is one thing about the way I buy watches, especially Rolex watches. I buy for a particular function for that watch in my life and I'm not talking complications only. The DJ is a decent dress watch, while the Explorer is a great casual watch that doesn't call too much attention to itself. The Sub is like every other diver I've ever owned, except that it's a Rolex, of course. It is a very robust, sports watch with a very handy lapsed-time bezel that I use nearly every day that I wear it. The GMT is another great sports watch and, naturally, it can track multiple time zones and the bezel can be used for lapsed-time, too. They all fill a niche and I've not gotten to the cheap watches I own. So what I'm saying to you is what some others have said. You have an icon in your collection that will always be worth something and the odds of it growing on you are tremendous. It's damned hard to find someone who doesn't like a Sub. You already own a PAM, so it can't be the size that's puts you off. Anyway, I can't really advise you as I'm not you, but even with minimal wear, buying a Sub is far from being catastrophic, unless you broke the bank with it, in which case the watch is not the problem.

Just wear it keep it will grow on you in time. By any chance do you feel like you are having buyers remorse due to the amount of money you spent to get it?

Actually in the title it say SubC; he clarifies later as a SubDateC. I think the names aren't clear to the OP. It's a SubDateC. Model numbers are much clearer to my way of thinking. Regardless, I hope the OP gets what they really want.

Do you have a picture of the Rolex? How bout snapping a wrist shot so we can see how it looks on you. Some watches look better than others on the wrist.

In most purchases, the dealer is not going to want to take back the thing sold. The dealer wants the purchase and reselling is tough, particularly if the stickers are off. Most things sold are not Rolex watches and most things sold don't have the immediate high demand that this particular watch had, whether sold to a dealer or not. If you're going to have buyers remorse, have it with a Rolex!

lol! you hit the nail on the head.
but you have to realize though it is a boring looking watch. it is probably the "best" watch you will ever have. you can think of it this way, if ever you continue to pursue your passion for watches. you will realize that you cant do without your rolex. panerai may look much sexier but rolex in all its boring looks will still be around much longer than panerai |

ps. I was happy to see that it all worked out for the OP. buyers remorse arises usually because of an impulse buy (that did not occur here) or because thing purchased didn't have the perceived value to the buyer that the buyer expected. Lack of perceived value can arise from failure to properly assess need/want, failure to investigate or the sudden realization that wanting what you got was more exciting than actually having it. I think everyone can imagine an example of that. one of the things that this forum is great for is seeking answers to questions. ultimately, as most here recognize over and over again, no one here can tell a poster what they'll be happy with.

Some folks seem to get deeply offended that someone doesn't like a particular model as much as they do.
For goodness sake, it's a "forum" where people post opinions and thoughts. It's not a personal attack on philosophies or a way of life. I spend a couple of years deciding on a purchase so when I get 'em I love 'em forever.
