Question about New "vintage" Rolex purchase

Hi all,

Question for the forum.

I just bought a Datejust. It's a steel and gold version, probably form the 80's. It has a blue face. I'm very pleased with it. It seems to be working fine, and it was supposed to be checked over and serviced by the seller. Wondering if I should be doing anything else, like taking it to a service center?

This is a second Rolex for me. I've worn an Explorer that I bought new 20 plus years ago. That watch has been great all these years. I'm also wondering if I should be investing in a watch winder for the Explorer, since I won't be wearing it as much. Otherwise I will let it run down and only wind it when I want to wear it. What do you all think about that?

Glad I found this forum. Had fun reading your posts.

Thanks for your input!

Congrats on the purchase! Concerning a winder, I have one and find it useful when I am wearing my vintage 1680 and 1675 in rotation. They do not have quickset dates, so keeping them on the winder keeps the dates right . If I am wearing a watch without a date or one that has quickset, I just let them stop running.

Just wind up the Explorer and wear it once in a while, and no date to set. Let's see pics of these watches...
