It's a great watch but I didn't think Rolex was in business in 1680. That makes you well over 300 years old. Congratulations!!!!

Great watch! Enjoy it! Been looking for a 1978 Rolex that is original and does not look 36 years old and have not had any luck. Congrats!

My Birth Year 1680
Mine is a clone. Sharp edges, same year. But I wear it quite often, including in pools and the ocean. That's the best part, enjoy that sucker.

I was thinking I needed a 1978 Birth Year Sub; now I know I do. That is a lovely example.

Wow! Stunner! I'm sure I'm in the super minority here -- but DON'T wear it! Put it in the safe and forget about it for a coupla decades.

Couldn't disagree more. You, we, anyone very well could die tomorrow. Then in a couple of decades that watch you liked so much will still be in that safe. If you buy something to enjoy... Then enjoy it! If it gets scratched then it got scratched doing what it was supposed to do... Give you pleasure. Now if having the watch and never seeing it gives you more pleasure then looking at and using it, then by all means keep it locked up. Otherwise, wear your watch and enjoy your life my friend.
