Im strongly considering getting one for my SubC ND. They look cool, are more casual and I don't have to worry about scratching up my band.

Can't decide if I'd want the tang buckle or Glidelock compatible one...Anyone owned both and has some thoughts?

I went with a tang buckle on both of my RubberBs -- I wanted an even lower profile look.

Once they come out with a tang option for my 216570, I will likely pick up another one.

But wouldn't using the Glidelock clasp sort of defeat part of the purpose since you'd be subjecting the clasp to scratches?

For straps, I strongly suggest a deployant to prolong the strap's life.

I had the Tang for DSSD... but outgrew it and found myself in-between 2 holes..

Then I got the glidelock version for DSSD... and it felt awesome! :)

BTW I have the glidelock version for 114060 earlier and love every second with it

I do not own a Rubber B, but if I did, I would choose the tang buckle as it looks better to me.

not only does tang look better (IMHO), but, it's one less thing to fiddgle with when switching back and forth.

Another consideration - the tang version tapers to 18mm while the clasp version tapers to 16mm. I like the slightly wider look on a rubber strap. The drawback of the tang is that the buckle is poorly designed and tends to stick up rather than lay flat. I solved this by substituting a buckle from a $15 strap. It surprises me that with all the R&D that went into the strap design they couldn't get the buckle right.

Go with the Tang.. I have one on my Seadweller and very comfortable.. the other advantage is that the Glidelock stays on my original band and easier to change bands without the the hassel of Glidelock dis-assembly.

I've had both and will not own another one that uses the Glidelock or factory clasp.

Reason? Have a look at the attachment point on the RubberB strap where it connects into the OEM clasp -- it's like 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch wide -- who wants their Rolex watch being held on by <3/8 of an inch of soft rubber?

Conversely the pin and tang buckle design is robust and comfortable. Great strap.

I have the tang and love it. Easier IMO to not have to swap the clasp, and I like the lower profile look.

Thanks for everyone's opinions, as a die hard bracelet switcher I think the tang works better so I don't have to disassemble the glidelock to quickly switch things up. In addition, as others have noted, the original glidelock will still be subjected to scratches. I'll write a post about it if I decide to take the plunge. Thanks!

Recently just purchased the Rubber B for my DSSD, LOVE IT..I went for the tang buckle as i didn't want the clasp to get scratched and it gives it a nicer look (IMO).
