Day Date II- an old mans watch?

Do you guys think that the DD II is a maturer/older persons watch? I recently got a DDII in YG and I'm 28 years old... People who are into watches appreciate the timepiece..while the average joe and some ppl who are into watches as well have said its a maturer persons watch....something to have when ur 40+..What do you guys think?

whenever i think gold watch, a retirement party comes to mind.

some people can pull it off, personally i won't try. wore one at the store once, didn't feel too different from what i already have.

age aside, the image is just a little too "macho" for my taste. same reason why i don't have an escalade or murcielago.

No way! The new size/style of the DDII makes it very youthful. Honestly most people I see with that watch on in NYC are 20 somethings.

What matters most is whether you like the watch, because you are the one wearing it.

I have never seen a young person wear one. But that is probably due to the cost, not the style.

Hey, why not start a new trend, rock one and the young and fashionable will follow.

I'm going to punch somebody in the nose! As an elderly man in his fifties I resent when I hear about the Day-Date being for old people. Some of us don't care for 50mm watches or trendy watches. If classic or 18kt is "old," then call me Gramps.

Gramps, you may have some anger issues. Let's see: overbearing mother, distant father...hmmm....how do you feel about that

DD is a classic and any watch connoisseur regardless of age can wear one. Don't worry what others think and be confident in your own skin

No, we took it humorously, and responded in kind. Your post was too out of character to be serious. But I breast-fed until 6 years old, so what do I know

Don't see the difference between a gold necklace/ring/etc and a gold watch. You want, you can afford, you buy, you wear.
Besides, a DDII actually wears pretty big on your average 6.5 to 7.5 wrist, so it fits with the current trend while still fitting your wrist properly.
Don't see many members here talking about flipping their gold DDII's.........

I'm thirties too and after a DD2 but I do think the RG chocolate dial is a bit more youthful and modern than your YG.

Which is what my grail is when Im 55+

Rolex is pretty modern now in designs

I'm in my thirties, if I could afford one, I'd have one. It's a beautiful watch and shows that you have great taste. Wear it! Enjoy it!

There's definitely a stigma in the non wis crowd that gold watches are for established older gents, but I'm pretty sure that's gone out the window with the current trend of fake gold watches on every wrist. Sometimes I wonder if a gold Rolex is just as under the radar as a steel one in this era.

I would wear it proudly. It's how you wear it that counts.

Nonsense. With its pricetag it isn't for a teenager, obviously but men of means to wear ideally with smart attire. I kind of swing towards the roman numeral dial bieng more suited to an older gent however..

No in my opinion. Love the Day-Date and Day-Date II. Would love to add it to my collection one day. However, many people I know associate full gold watches and TT watches with being an "old man". Don't know why. Gold is elegant and can be worn by adults of all ages in my opinion. If you are in a position to get one, you should. Or if you already have one (or two), wear it with pride.
