maybe Maverick had a collection of watches, its not unheard of, specially round these parts! I change my watch every time I change my shirt, I think Maverick is entitled to change his watch when he changes from his motor bike to his fighter jet

The pilot might've been Adm. Willard, he recently retired as the Commander, U.S.Pacific Command. During the time the movie was shot, he was the operations officer and executive officer of Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) and aerial coordinator for the movie. But I agree with most posts on here, the movie has alot of technical errors. Those that have been around the Navy and Naval Aviation can easily point those out. But it was a great recruiting tool...got me to sign the dotted line many years ago. :-)

My wife still loves that movie and musical score; she even bought the music. Pathetic I tell her.
