Interesting Experience At A Grey Dealer
So today I stopped by at a grey dealer's shop. He sells new and used Rolex and APs and other high end brands. They had few custom watches and many BNIB watches as well. I saw 3 very interesting pieces among others and would like to share with you guys.
The first was what I thought is a Platona, but to my surprise it was a modified SS Daytona. Of course once I had a close up and held the watch I knew it. To be honest, he almost had me. I believe a member here has done this before, but can't remember who. According to the sales guy, they send the watches to Singapore to have all their modifications done there. The second nice piece was the new YG Skydweller silver Roman numeral dial on a brown leather strap. I must say, it's one of best Rolex watches out there. I just love everything about this particular iteration of the SkD. The wrist presence is great and feels just right. A perfect piece if you ask me. The last one is a simple new YG DD, but the dial is just different. I don't remember the name of the dial, but it's the "wood-like" precious stone. It was the first time for me to see that dial. The watch was BNIB and according to the sales person, the dial is original. I thought it looked nice, yet a bit on the flashy side for my taste. Still, noteworthy. Sorry for the long post, just wanted to share my experience. Be well, everyone. |
