The location will be just a mile or two South of the Fashion Island shopping center of Newport Beach, and is on the 1 / PCH. This place serves breakfast/brunch on the weekends (along with lunch).

We're trying to keep this going as a monthly meetup, so I'm hoping we get repeat attendees from the last one plus new attendees.

Note: I decided to keep the location off the public post because someone (not one of the attendees in the last GTG) made a quip about 'security'.

I personally didn't think much of it and if someone wanted to do a hit on the GTG, I'd be willing to throw down.

All that aside, I decided to keep it 'private' (not publicly visible) for the sake of (prospective) attendees, so if anyone has a qualm about publicly known meeting locations for a watch get together, I can honor those concerns.

If anyone wants to know the location before I send out the PM notice, feel free to PM me in advance.

I don't see the issue with posting the location. It's not like you will be screening who you PM it to.

Yeah, I thought about it after I posted the new thread and it seems rather pointless unless I have a legitimate way of 'vetting' everyone that wants to attend.

Anyone else have any thoughts on the subject?

I'm in. I attended the first OC GTG. Only thing that may prevent me from making it is my son's soccer game. He plays every Saturday and I am the coach of his team so I need to be there. I should have the time of the game for that weekend in the next few days. They generally play in the morning.

Afternoon GTG most likely would work better for me.

Can't hurt to keep the location private and only communicate it through PM. I assume only registered TRF members will end up RSVP for the GTG anyway so PM should work. This way we have an idea of who they are. Just my 2 cents.

One of the items which I wanted to talk about at the 'inaugural' meetup was alternating Sat/Sun every other month.

I didn't know what people did on Sundays.

I'd be willing to go with Sun, Oct 05 @ 1000.

Not sure what that means to everyone else.

I've been there early on weekends, before noon, and there's usually hardly anyone in there during that time.

I didn't note in the PM, but there is parking directly behind The Crow Bar. There's a small driveway right next to the main entrance of The Crow Bar on the 1 HWY, or you can turn on to Acacia Avenue before the Ruby's Diner and come in from behind that.

There's also alternative parking if that small lot behind the place is full, but it's paid.

But there's also free parking on the streets as well. It's all up to what you're comfortable with.

I'm pretty sure I PM'ed everyone, but I'm canceling the GTG because there were a few last minute un-RSVP's and those that contacted me directly via PM haven't gotten back to me at all.

Anyway, I hope to reschedule something soon. Sorry we couldn't make this work like last month.
