Authenticating a Breitling

I have spent a few hours searching this and am still confused so any help gratefully accepted. I have been offered a Breitling Chronospace, 1996 model, SERIAL#A56012.1 10185.
The watch is 18 years old and shows age reflective of this. The seller states the following:
Movement replaced in 2009 (Aerospace movement) & New Crystal and Hands
Service & Cleaning in late 2012
Neoprene Travel Case (Gen) & Polishing Cloth
Chronospace Manual
Aftermarket strap & Bracelet
He has no proof or papers of this so cannot authenticate. Is there any way of checking authenticity as the seller is not in the same country as me and I cannot view it apart from the pictures he has sent. Its a good price (looking at similar on ebay etc). What would experts value this watch at?
I know its difficult without seeing it but a ball park figure would be a good starting point for me. Thank you.

I'd be patient and find a more local piece unless he accepts PayPal.
The watch looks pretty good to me, but would need caseback pics.
This piece was not often counterfeited. I will say you should be buying
It low. I've personally seen this for sale in the $14-1600 usd range.

Another couple of pics. Essentially I would be buying the head only as both straps are non OEM and no box/papers etc. It is quite a bit lower than the $1200-$1400 than you advise.

Authenticating a Breitling

Ok so the a56012.1 is the model # not the serial. It is authentic but it's in rough shape. Here's a bit more info. http://www.breitlingsource.com/watch...sional_31.html

So is the 10185 the serial number? If any experts can advise how I can 100% authenticate this and a rough purchase price that would be a great help. Thanks to all who have contributed up to now.

Yes sorry for the delay. The Chronospace has no good replica watches out there, it's definitely authentic. You should be less than a grand into it if you want a deal, and it's in pretty rough shape. Crystal is scratche up and the case could use a polish.
