How about YOUR safety? What is preventing somebody from the shop selling your data to some burglars for example?

A nice list of IDs of all the people interested in Rolex watches.. identity thieves wet dream.

These days, I'm not surprised, somewhat insulted by the notion; but whatever...

At least they didn't ask for a copy of your tax return...

Hi!
That's quite shocking...
But knowing me, I would probably say...
"If you need an ID from me, why don't you pull out your cellular and take a picture of me ..." and the rest is censored ..., but you get the point...

Cheers

I don't see what's the big deal here.....if the company policy requires you to show ID, I don't see the problem....they are just following rules. It does not mean they are seeing you as a criminal. Either they ask you for an ID or they lose their job for not following rules.

Hey that's a small price to pay to see the "president" good thing you didn't ask to see the "batman" or the "hulk", you might have been subjected to a full body cavity search right then and there!

Give me a break. You run a greater risk these days using your credit card at any number of places (Target, Home Depot?) than some jewelry store person photo copying your ID. If you end up buying the watch you are likely to give them that info anyway.

If we don't have to show an ID to vote in this country, why should we have to show to see a watch !!

don't even get started. Not requiring to show your ID to vote in this country is absolute bullsh*t.

Could be just a weird policy...I would have asked where it's coming from before being offended...if they indicate it's store policy...that's fine...at least then I know why I got asked...if on a management whim...I'd be walking out too.

Been here for a while but never posted before. Being quite familiar with New Hampshire, I'm shocked at Jared's request. They already have you on camera and you've left fingerprints all over the place. What's the problem?

Not to mention you're already in the store. I suppose it might deter anyone that wanted to put the watch on and make a run for it but isn't willing to cross the line of breaking the glass of the display case and risk a vandalism charge on top of the robbery.

Lately here in Connecticut we have had a few smash an grabs at a couple of ADs of High end Rolex watches. One guy rolled in a wheel chair tried on a $30,000.00 Rolex got up and ran out the door. If the AD doesn't know you are the being overly cautious? Maybe not.

If they ask me for my ID I'd say...

"Yes, I could show you my ID, but the way you have asked is rather insulting, and coupled with your lack of intuition may cost you a sale. "

Did you still want to proceed?
