I prefer using a .3mm leaded pencil and will use a .5mm as well because .3mm mechanical pencils are hard to find. And when you do find them they are from an Art Supply store which carries drafting supplies as well. So finding finely made custom mechanical pencils which use a .3mm or even a .5mm are just about non-existent.....or I just do not know how to search for them!!!

I've never tried .3. I bet that size is hard to find but blink art sells the Alvin Draft-Line Mechanical Pencil but I'm not sure that what you are looking for in "quality" I'm sure there is one near you. My daughter is into drawing sketching and coloring and it's easy to spend an hour in that shop.
