I remember virtually EVERY villain from the first season had a Rolex DD. Even Izzy ended up wearing one at some point.

Thanks, I really enjoyed that article. I always thought DJ wore an Ebel on his show, but I guess I was wrong.

There is a new show we just watched called Affairs of State or something like that, starring Katherine Heigl as a presidential briefer/terrorist-hunter (a bit disconnected from reality), and she wore a YG DD throughout, but in the early scenes it was a female size with the thin bracelet, in later scenes it was the new large male size. Continuity problem, or my eyes are going bad. Some of the other characters wore interesting watches. One guy wore either a Sub LN or the Omega version (I could not see it long enough to tell). And yet another guy wore a blue dialed dress watch, maybe a Journe.

John, your right! DJ did wear an ebel in some of the early episodes. It was a white dialed ebel 1911 chrono I think. Oh, and btw, I still wear wayfarers!! Wearing them for years.

I am currently at 485 W matheson drive. A historical house used for lots of miami vice episodes ( the great mccarthey) and was also used in scarface as frank lopez's house. The land used to belong to Richard Nixon where he would spend his winters down here. You can see the helicopter pad is still here!

i remember trying on the yg 1911 ebel , the non chrono , in the rolex dealers at the time , early eighties , and i was simply knocked back at how beautiful it was , they seem to have vanished now ..
the boat parked behind the house is more of a ship ,, ill bet there are some storys to be told ,, proper storys ,,

The house is just the epitome of the modern art boom of the 1980's. Ive never seen anyone home outside of landscapers and the yacht crew. There was a guy outside cleaning the phantom off though i was going to have my gf ask him if we could take a tour.

A picture of my gf and I in front of the Scarface/Miami Vice mansion on Key Biscayne. This mansion was used in The Great Mccarthey episode of MV along with many others, and was Frank Lopez's house in scarface. The property has a giant helicopter pad as it was Richard Nixons private " Winter White House" he lived at during the watergate scandal.

A new "narco novela" just started on Telemundo called "Duenos del Paraiso" ...which is about the Miami drug trade in the 1980's......One of my wifes far distant relatives has a supporting role in it. They have the cars and clothes of the era correct so far but it just started this week.
