Newby and how the links should sit
I am the proud new owner of an Explorer I (214270). From the first day I wore it, I have noticed how incredibly comfortable it is to wear.
I have a 7 1/4" wrist and have tried several different combinations of the micro adjustment and adding/removing a link. I have landed on having the micro adjustment at its loosest, with one link removed. My AD removed the link from the 6 o'clock side (as per Rolex instructions). This has left me with 4 links on the 6 o'clock side and 7 links (plus the easy link) on the 12 o'clock side. As a result, when you hold the clasp horizontal, the watch is at a 45* angle. Is this right? Or should the links be changed to be 5 links on the 6 o'clock side and 6 links (plus the easy link) on the 12 o'clock side? |

If it is comfortable and sits like you want on your wrist when worn it's fine. How the watch hangs when held is not important. My watch tends to roll towards the 12 o'clock side, so I always remove the link on the 6 o'clock side. You can buy a decent set of jewelers screwdrivers on Amazon for ten bucks or so, and with care, do it yourself. And don't forget the loctite. Get the kind for small screws, that doesn't require heat to release. Then you can try a few different combos until you find what's works for you.

There is no right or wrong way to size your bracelet.
The only right way is the way that makes it comfortable for you. |

Let's see some pics. Is it comfortable for you and is the clasp reasonably centered under the wrist?
Congrats on a great watch, by the way. |

You wear a watch, not hold it up in the air. Configure the bracelet so that it is comfortable on you. Typically that means fewer links on the 6 side than on the 12 side.
